Commercial Surfacing & Repairs

Affordable & Effective Pothole Repair Experts Kent

A pothole that is simply filled tends to come back, because the edges are loose and water gets straight back in. We cut the damaged area back to a square edge, dig out to sound material, tack coat the sides and base, then fill with hot material and compact it. The joint is sealed so the repair stays bonded to the surface around it.

The same method is used for trip hazards and sunken areas, so a footpath or playground is left level as well as filled.

Pothole Repairs

Benefit from Our Pothole Repairs & Resurfacing Expertise & Experience in Kent

We have carried out repairs on behalf of Kent County Council and utility companies, and we are registered with the Street Works Qualifications Register (SWQR). That shows in the detail: neat square joints, levels that match the surrounding surface and a site left clean.

Where a surface has more potholes than sound tarmac, repeated patching stops being good value. We will tell you when road repairs or resurfacing would cost less over the next few years, and price both so you can compare.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pothole Repairs: Your Questions Answered

How do you repair a pothole so it lasts?

By cutting it back to a square edge, digging out to sound material, tack coating the sides, filling with hot material, compacting it and sealing the joint. That stops water getting in around the edge, which is how most quick fills fail.

Can you repair several potholes in one visit?

Yes, and it is usually the most economical way to do it. We survey the whole area, mark up every defect and repair them together.

When is it better to resurface than to patch?

When potholes and cracking are spread across most of the surface, or the base has failed widely. At that point patching costs more over time than a new surface, and we will price both so you can see the difference.

Do you repair potholes on private driveways?

Yes. We repair potholes on driveways, car parks, private roads and yards, using the same cut, fill and seal method so the patch matches the surface around it.

Why do potholes keep coming back?

Water gets into cracks, freezes and breaks up the surface, and a quick fill without cutting back or sealing the joints lets it happen again. Cutting out to sound material and sealing the edges stops that.
