Privacy Policy
SE Groundworks Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect the information you give us.
Introduction
This policy explains what personal information SE Groundworks Ltd collects through this website and when you contact us, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We only collect what we need to reply to you and to carry out the work you ask us to quote for.
Who We Are
SE Groundworks Ltd, trading as South East Groundworks, is the data controller for the information described here. We are registered in England under company number 11630869. Our registered address is Oast House, Aydhurst Farm, Marden Road, Staplehurst, Tonbridge, Kent, TN12 0PD.
You can contact us about this policy or your information by email at info@segroundworksltd.co.uk or by phone on 01580 234285.
Personal Data
When you send an enquiry through a form on this website we receive the details you enter: usually your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the service you are interested in, your message and any photo you choose to attach. The form also records the page you sent it from.
We use these details to reply to your enquiry, to arrange a site visit, to prepare a quote and, if you go ahead, to carry out and invoice the work. We do not use them for marketing unless you have asked us to.
Who We Share Your Personal Information With
Enquiries sent through this website are delivered to us by Digital Five (Smart Numbers Limited), who build and host the site, using the email delivery service Postmark. Digital Five keeps an archive copy of each enquiry so that none is lost if an email fails to arrive; access to that archive is limited to Digital Five staff supporting our website.
We do not sell your information. We only share it with others where we need to in order to do the job you have asked for (for example a materials supplier delivering to your address, or the highway authority when a dropped kerb application needs your details), or where the law requires it.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. This website uses a cookie banner so you can choose which optional cookies are set. Strictly necessary cookies, which the site needs to work, are always on. Anything optional only runs after you accept it, and you can change your choice at any time through the banner.
Types of Cookies
- Strictly necessary: needed for the site and its security features to work, including the spam protection on our enquiry forms.
- Analytics: help us understand how visitors use the site. These only run if you accept them.
- Advertising: used to measure or personalise adverts. These only run if you accept them.
Our contact page shows an embedded Google Map of the area we cover. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads; this is listed in the cookie banner.
Google Ads
If we use Google Ads to advertise our services, Google may use cookies to measure whether an advert led to an enquiry. These cookies are only set if you accept advertising cookies in the banner. You can read how Google uses information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Google Analytics Privacy Policy
If we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, it only runs after you accept analytics cookies. Google Analytics reports on visits in aggregate, such as which pages are viewed and how visitors found the site. Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
We have a Facebook page where customers can leave recommendations, and this website links to it. If you follow that link, Facebook’s own privacy policy applies to anything you do there. This website does not place Facebook tracking on your device.
Legal Basis for Processing Any Personal Data
We process enquiry details on the basis of our legitimate interests in replying to enquiries, and to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, such as visiting the site and preparing a quote.
Legitimate Interests Pursued by SE Groundworks &/or Its Clients
Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests are replying to people who contact us, quoting for and carrying out work, keeping proper records of jobs we have done, and protecting our website from spam and misuse.
Consent
Where we rely on your consent, for example for optional cookies, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
Disclosure
We may disclose your information if we are legally required to, for example to comply with a court order or a request from a regulator, or to protect our rights in a dispute.
Retention Policy
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry. Where we carry out work for you, we keep records of that work for up to seven years to meet tax and legal obligations, then delete what we no longer need.
Data Storage
Your information is held in our email and business records and in Digital Five’s enquiry archive. We take reasonable steps to keep it secure and limit access to the people who need it.
Data Transfers
Some of the services we use, such as email delivery, may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, the provider uses safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses.
Your Rights as a Data Subject
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email info@segroundworksltd.co.uk.
You Can Request the Following Information:
- what personal information we hold about you and where it came from
- why we hold it and who we have shared it with
- how long we plan to keep it
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
