Lewes Block Paving

A block paved drive lasts when the ground under it is right. We dig out to a firm formation, lay and compact a Type 1 sub-base in layers, then screed a sharp sand bed so every block sits level and the surface sheds water where it should.

Concrete blocks, clay brick pavers and natural stone setts are all available, so a Lewes drive can suit the house rather than fight it. Kerb edging is haunched in concrete, which stops the outer rows creeping once cars start turning on them.

Not every tired Lewes drive needs replacing. Where blocks have sunk, rocked loose or been lifted by roots, we take up the affected area, put right the base beneath, and relay the original blocks or matched new ones.

Paving that is sound but grubby can often be brought back with a clean and fresh jointing sand. If the real problem is a failed sub-base across the whole drive, we will say so plainly, and you can weigh a repair against a relay.
