A block paved drive lasts when the ground under it is right. We dig out to a firm formation, lay and compact a Type 1 sub-base in layers, then screed a sharp sand bed so every block sits level and the surface sheds water where it should.

Concrete blocks, clay brick pavers and natural stone setts are all available, so a Haywards Heath drive can suit the house rather than fight it. Kerb edging is haunched in concrete, which stops the outer rows creeping once cars start turning on them.
